The Art of Layering: How to Style Premium Winter Looks

Layered winter look by Jakamen

Layering is the easiest way to look put-together in winter and stay comfortable as the temperature changes through the day.

Start thin, finish structured

Build from the lightest layer outwards: shirt, then knitwear, then blazer, then coat. Each layer should be slightly heavier than the one beneath it.

Keep the fit clean

Slim and comfort-fit pieces layer best when each one fits properly. A knit that is too loose will bunch under a blazer; a coat should have room for a jacket underneath.

Play with texture

Combine smooth and textured fabrics, such as a cotton shirt with a ribbed knit and a wool coat, to add depth to a simple colour palette.

Stay within one colour family

Navy, grey, beige and brown work well together. Tonal outfits look considered and are easy to put together in the morning.
